01 / THE FIGHTS — DOCKET
HB 12, the Jeff, Dave, and Angie Patient Right to Try Act, lets your doctor prescribe a treatment that could still help when standard options have run out. It has 40 co-sponsors and a hearing behind it, but it has sat in the House Health Committee with no vote.
HB 116, the Blockchain Basics Act, blocks local governments from taxing or restricting bitcoin, protects miners from discriminatory zoning, and exempts sub-$200 transactions from capital gains tax. It passed the Ohio House 70-26 in June 2025 and has sat in a Senate committee with no hearing.
Rep. Jennifer Gross moved the Freedom to Carry Act as a floor amendment, but House leadership tabled it 75-20 without debate. The 75 votes to kill it were 42 Republicans, including Speaker Huffman, plus 33 Democrats.
